We Apologize For Not Crediting Parts Of President’s Speech – Says Eugene Arhin

Parts of His Excellency Akuffo Addo’s speech is has been trending since the Inauguration ceremony on the 7th of January for parts of it been plagiarised from the former USA’s Presidents George Bush, Bill Clinton and others.

Mr Eugene Arhin, Communications Director at the Presidency has apologized for portions of President Akuffo Addo’s  speech which didn’t acknowledge their sources on his facebook page saying it wasn’t deliberate but an oversight.

His post says ” My attention has been drawn to references being made to a statement in the the speech delivered by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, at his swearing in on Saturday, january 7, 2017, which was not dully acknowledged…… I unreservedly apologize for the non-acknowledgment  of this quote to the original author. It was a complete oversight, and never deliberate. It is insightful to note that in the same speech were were quotes from Dr. J.B Danquah, Dr. K.A Busia, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and the Bible which were all duly attributed and acknowledged”

Some are saying the damage has already been done and apologies are made and being made so it’s ok, whiles others think the communications team and anyone responsible for this has shamed Ghana infront of the world and so should be fired!

What do you think?

  1. I’ve been surfing on-line more than 3 hours nowadays,
yet I by no means found any fascinating article
like yours. It is beautiful value enough for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good
content material as you did, the web will likely be much more useful than ever before.
